Yay! Bragging rights!

My pride and joy!
Today, for the 4th time in a row, my Double Deathstar has served me well, winning me the top spot of the illustrious Comics Mart 40k League! Ok, this isn't as boombastic fantastic as it sounds, there are only 5 of us, comprising 2 Blood Angels, 1 Vanilla Marine, 1 Space Wolf and 1 Chaos Space Marine. That's right, 100% Marines, all the way. Today's game was for 4 objectives against Peter's pretty straightforward CSM army:

Abaddon
Daemon prince with wings, Mark of Slaanesh and Lash of Submission
10 Plague Marines with a Champion with powerfist, a personal icon and 2 meltaguns, in a Rhino with a combiweapon
9 Plague Marines with a Champion with powerfist, a personal icon and 2 meltaguns, in a Rhino with a combiweapon
3 squads of 3 Obliterators each

By my reckoning, this comes to 1762pts. I had the first turn and deployed everything. He deployed his Obliterators, Daemon Prince and Abaddon in cover, reserving the Plague Marines in their Rhinos. To cut a long story short, my lascannons killed Abaddon, snipers dealt 5 (!) rending wounds against Obliterators, Furioso blew away the Daemon Prince with the ever-handy Frag Cannon (it had been weakened from early lascannon salvos, mind you) and my Terminators assaulted and shredded the Plague Marines in turn. Throughout all this, the Stormraven flitted about, infuriating the dwindling numbers of Obliterators with its turboboosting cover save. Short, sharp and vicious game, except for the Furioso, which spent no less than 5 full rounds locked in combat with an Obliterator who made an absurd number of invulnerable saves.

And thus concludes this chapter of the adventures of the ridiculously lucky Double Deathstar Blood Angels. I have played this list 4 times in a row and I am BORED. Also, it's a pain to lug around. Time to field something a little more compact, I think. So, until 6th Edition, to the shelf! Say bye-bye...

Waiting for 6th...
